  • Created a set of design options to determine how/if eliminating a window from the project would impact the overall design.

Reflection

• This week I learned that throughout each phase of the project there are always going to be moments when revisions become necessary to resolve conflicts based on new information. In the case of the North Charleston Senior Center, we discovered that the height of our canopy was interfering with the bottom of one of the clerestory windows. Since the height of the canopy could not be changed, we had to make a decision on whether it would be better from a design standpoint to either eliminate just the clerestory window or to eliminate both the clerestory window as well as the window below. Ultimately it was decided to take out both based on how it would look from inside the space if just the clerestory window were to be removed.
