Reflection:
I spent all of this week working on the part two forms of the historic tax credit process for a multi-building site in Columbia, SC. Diving into these forms is really helpful for my understanding of the historic preservation process. I never realized how complicated the historic preservation process can be, but it is so fascinating to learn more and more about what goes into saving a historic building. The part two forms involves the proposed design of the renovated building, which needs to be historically accurate to gain tax credit approval. Learning to design while balancing historical accuracy and modern upfits is really valuable. I will continue to work on these forms next week, and I am excited to be able to keep learning about everything involved in the process.
