Summary

This week, I split my time between the fire station I’ve been working on and the public park pavilion I began working on last week. I’ve enjoyed working on both projects simultaneously. Switching from a project in DD to one in CD’s has kept me on my toes and has kept the days from getting monotonous. Additionally, on Monday we had our monthly staff meeting. I enjoy going to those and seeing how the firm handles internal organization and workload management.

Work Sample

Project Title: Bender Park

Project Location: Bender Park, West Ashley

Project Scope: New park pavilion

Project Manager: Dan Corte

Role of the Student: Production

Description of Images: I’ve included two wall sections of the park pavilion I’ve been working on. They both have storefront windows that look onto a deck and steps or just steps. We are developing a framing system for the deck that changes partway through the site due to a change in existing grade. Where there is sufficient space below the deck, we are utilizing 2x framing on a concrete foundation. At the other end of the site, the deck is going to be installed on sleepers over a slab on grade.
