Wednesday: I continued working on the RFQ and compiled the 330s and example work from the consultants.
AXP: Project Management 2 Hours & Practice Management 2 Hours
Thursday: I spend most of the day working on compiling the HSR.
AXP: Practice Management 3.5 Hours
Weekly Project: Sandy Island HSR
Location: Sandy Island, Georgetown County, SC
Scope: Conditions Assessment, Recommendations and Historic Structure Report
Project Manager: Ben Whitener
Role of Student: Compile information provided by the consultant and client and format into a single document.
Lessons Learned: For this project, most of my time has been spent creating a new layout for our historic structure reports and adding the information from the consultants as it arrives. I also worked on several graphics to include in the report. It’s been interesting to look more deeply into the history of the structure and the area. The school house is to be actively used by the community as a community center, so seeing the considerations for rehab and both continued use and preservation has been very informative.
