Jeremy Eaton + Synchronicity | 9.14.20 – 9.18.20

My experience during week four at Synchronicity Land + Architecture. Weekly hours : 16 | Total hours: 48

 Monday. 9.14.20

  • Continued working on Mungo Homes – Merrill Gardens Construction Documents and DRB and reformatting drawings sets. Changed dimensions, fixed floor plan layouts to match configuration of other drawing sets.
  • Sewer maintenance along our street resulted in unpleasant sewer gas trickling into out bathroom. Turns out we have the lowest fixture on the street and as a result the re-pressurizing of the sewer main causes smells to trickle out. Not a fantastic way to start the work week but it was quickly resolved, aired out the office, and helped kickstart a plan to address that issue for the future.

Friday, 9.18.20

  • No work today. Friday’s are flex days for me if I need to make up hours or shift schedule.

Reflection:

I think this week has given me the experience of working on projects that have a lot of indecision from clients, or have unforeseen alterations to be made. It isn’t very pleasant spending the time altering all of the construction documents and constantly checking for consistency when the sets were already mostly complete. The projects are important and the work needs doing, and I would be naive to think I would ever have complete control over every project to ensure I am enjoying every aspect of it. At the very least I am sure that there will always be some aspects of projects that just aren’t enjoyable to do, but that’s okay. The end product is worth the time.
