Shane Lenard Week 9.14.20 – 9.17.20

~Novus Architects~

Monday (9.14.20)

Today we had our usual Monday morning meetings with the Charleston office and then the entire office meeting. Today I finalized the drawings that we would be using for the site visit at the BSSF hospital the next day. We added two rooms to the drawings on the MOB wings on the third floor. There were a total of about 20 MDF/IDF rooms that I would have been surveying and put these on sheets for the site visit.

Tuesday (9.15.20)

Today was the day Chay, Trey, and I went to BSSF hospital for the site visit. We were tasked with surveying all of the MDF/IDF communications closets in the main BSSF hospital as well as the Plaza MOB and Cancer Center. This included taking photographs, identifying fire ratings on walls, and dimension verification for these 20 odd rooms. It was quite a long task that took about four hours.

Wednesday (9.16.20)

On this day I helped organize all of the photographs we took on the site visit. I also reviewed my notes and updated the Revit model to make sure the verified dimensions and wall ratings were consistent with what we found in the field. I also added a brand new room to the model where we did not have any dimensions to locate this room previously.

Thursday (9.17.20)

On this day I continued to finish verifying the notes and information collected into the Revit model. I also compiled an excel document that noted all of the doors to the MDF/IDF closets on whether they had card reader or not.

Concluding thoughts;

This work that we did this week while mundane, is very necessary to the success of the closet renovation. DWG consulting engineers need this information to be able to complete their drawings quickly with the right field information.
