Interning March

Monday – 2nd March 2020

8:30 AM to 12:10 PM

I got to work on a new plan for a single house resident for an art client, 34 Rose Lane. Editing the elevations to the B.A.R. comments as well as editing anything that seems to fit well with the design of the elevations. The design of the building gives the client enough light for her paintings. Then later we returned to Union Station to understand more about the firewall that is existing on the site.

Tuesday – 3rd March 2020

8:35 AM to 12:10 PM

I continued working on editing the elevations of Rose Lane. Decided to create two different elevations of the building. All I need to do is receive feedback from Ashley and edit anything she comments on. Then the client from Union station stopped by the office for a meeting. We talked about lighting for his warehouse. After that, I went back working on the drawings.

Wednesday – 4th March 2020

8:35 AM to 12:05 PM

Today I continued working on the drawing for Rose Lane. Instead of drawing elevations, I drew section drawings of the building. Doing this allowed me to learn more about the detail on the section and how to use Power CAD more efficiently.

Thursday – 5th March 2020

8:40 AM to 12:10 PM

I worked more on the Rose Lane project. Finished the simple section cut drawing. The started drawings of the detail section cut of the house. At first, measurements were off, but I corrected them as time passed. I also learned different measurements for building materials.

Weekly Reflection (03/02 – 03/05)

Mostly this week focused on making elevations and section cut drawings. Doing these drawings allowed me to increase my knowledge not only on how to use Power CAD but it helped look at building drawings at a different angle

Monday – 9th March 2020

8:45 AM to 12:00 PM

Today I continued working on the section drawing of 34 Rose Lane. Ashley showed me to correct the dimension of the siding material of the building. We used cedar siding for the measurements which is .75 inches by 7.25 inches with a 6-inch exposure.

Then I attended a meeting with Michael and Ashley about what is on the agenda for this week for projects. We discussed 415 King Street, 34 Rose Lane, 84 Spring Street, 109 Rutledge, Union Station, and 133 Calhoun Street. We also talked about where were each project at. I was able to learn more information about each of those projects.

Tuesday – 10th March 2020

8:50 AM to 11:05 AM

Today I edited the section cuts of the building 34 Rose Lane. I was able to complete them. All I need is Ashley’s approval on them, but today she had meetings all day.
