Weekly Reflection

Last week, the client from Lancaster Eye Clinic gave us some feedback and changes that need to make, so this week I was mainly working on those changes. It is very interesting to see the process of client making decisions. As we architects visualizing our concept, the clients start to engage in the process of design and think about how the work flow can be optimized through architecture design. This is a process of negotiation, where architects want a more spacious building with enough circulation area, nice view for eachroom but the clients want to add more staff and get a more efficient turn over rate.

On Thursday, my mentor gave me another work to do. We have a client that has relationship for several years. They have an empty property and we have been doing site concept and massing study for a year or two. We had tested different massing and how many parking could fit in that little property and how big is the allowable building area. It is also interesting to just propose a building without any purpose. We are just thinking how to maximize the allowable building area and to get most benefit in the future.
