Student’s Role: Assembling final drawing set to present to client
Over the course of the past week I worked on re-dimensioning the plans & updating the 3D model for the Hopkins Residence a few times, largely due to design revisions made by the client. Although this can be a little frustrating at times it is often the norm within our field because design is a largely iterative process and we usually don’t get everything right the first go around. Another key lesson I learned this week while adding dimensions to the floor plans is to keep in mind who the intended audience of the drawings is going to be and who will be reading them since this affects the clarity and conciseness of the information conveyed in the drawing.
